Staying Happy and Healthy
No matter where you are, it is always possible to immerse yourself into fun and interesting things to keep yourself happy and healthy! That's one of the beauties of this job so don't miss it. It forces you out of your comfort zone and gets you excited to explore new things!
Find a new work out class and go for it! Whether it's goat yoga, a fun dance class, or just a killer work out at the gym! It's very easy to get complacent with not being healthy when you're schedule is so full, but don't let this downward spiral happen – make being healthy a top priority!
When moving to a new city on a flight attendant budget, you'll find grocery shopping and meal prepping is a considerable time and money saver! Take a little time and put effort into this and you won't regret it… this will make your new traveling lifestyle much easier and more affordable. Can just pack and go! There are plenty of online resources for quick and easy meal prep, to make it easy find 10 recipes you like and stick to that for a few weeks.
Find time to relax. Traveling for a living, going from hotel to hotel, state to state, or country to country - you are going to have moments of exhaustion. So, surprise, surprise, take time for yourself! Go paddle boarding on the lake, treat yourself to a day at the spa, catch some rays by the pool or even better… the beach! After all, paradise is only one spontaneous flight away. Why? Because we can! It's awesome! I've taken quick trips to Mexico for literally 36 hours and it's so fulfilling to travel, have fun, meet people and decompress using the travel perks of the job.
Keep in mind that even being a little bit tired from time to time is worth it. Remind yourself of all the amazing opportunities coming your way! Because remaining happy and healthy does not only mean staying in shape physically but mentally as well.
